What are my rights as a parent?
What do all these IEP terms and acronyms actually mean?
What should I say during the meeting?
How do I know if my child's IEP is actually working?
What can I do if I don't agree with the school's decisions?
Am I doing enough to help my child?
You shouldn't have to navigate the IEP process alone. The Confident IEP Parent System will help you understand the process, prepare with confidence, and become a calm, informed advocate for your child every step of the way.

Serving Children and Families Since 1984
I began serving children with disabilities as a hearing-impaired interpreter in 1984 before becoming a classroom teacher in 1994.
I've participated in countless IEP meetings from the school's side of the table. More recently, I've also experienced the IEP process from the parent's side as my grandson, who has significant hearing loss, began his own educational journey.
That perspective has deepened my appreciation for the questions, emotions, and decisions parents face. It has reminded me that behind every IEP is a child who is deeply loved and a family doing their very best.
My goal isn't to teach you how to argue with your child's school.
My goal is to help you understand the process, communicate with confidence, and become a calm, informed advocate for the child God has entrusted to your care.
You don't have to know everything.
You simply need someone to help you take the next step.
They're simply trying to navigate the IEP process without a clear roadmap.
Without a plan, IEP meetings can feel intimidating.
Without understanding your rights, it's easy to second-guess yourself.
Without practical tools, staying organized becomes overwhelming.
Without confidence, many parents leave meetings wishing they had said more.
